Dear Comrades
With great regret I have to withdraw from the NEC elections. This decision has been taken after discussion between myslef and my DGS Tony Dubbins. The GRA have promised the following
1) All left and centre-left groups will be able to nominate in the next GA slate
including the LRC, Compass, the Campaign for Socialism in Scotland, Welsh Left, CWU left, The Amicus Unity Gazette, the Unison Left, T&GWU broad left, Co-op party? etc
They have also promised to support Mike Griffiths for the General Secretary of the Labour Party
Thanks to Burnley and Westmorland espescially

Election making progress
It seems that I may get on the ballot paper for this one. Support is growing amongst many clps, student groups, left organisations and trade unionists. I ask for one more push for nominations.
Thanks

This comes from the heart!
Dear Comrades
You can only be yourself in any situation and this what I am doing for this campaign. I speak from the heart. I was brough up during the miners strike, which was devasted by Thatcher. I use to help my dad give out food parcels. This has convinced me to be a shop steward and Labour party actvist. This is what makes me a grassroots activist and a campaigner. I do hope you will support me.
Thanks
John Wiseman

I have been involved in a number of campaigns locally. I have a good knowledge of campaigning. I have a BSc (Hons) Business informatics, Bed (Hons) Information Technology and working to complete my MA in teaching children with Special Educational Needs.

Ø Through my work as a teacher and a local Councillor I have developed excellent communication skills.
Ø I have dealt with many problems similar to those faced by an MP in his surgery, through my work as a Councillor. I did run a regular surgery as a Councillor
Ø I have dealt with the media on many occasions, including the national press. I am always listening to the opinions of various pressure groups and trade unions to that I have a holistic approach as a campaigner.
Campaigning & party development skills
Ø As an active trade unionist I have been involved in many campaigns including the problems raised by 18 years of Conservative rule e.g. spending cuts, anti-trade union legislation etc.
Ø I campaigned during the 1997 general election campaign as a non member and 2001 and 2005 as a member of the party.
Ø I campaigned in European elections by inviting some of the local candidates to our CLP and canvassing on their behalf.
Ø I have campaigned in every local election since 1998. I have done everything from canvassing to putting leaflets through the door.
Ø I have campaigned for more active participation in the party by women, young people, LGBT and ethnic minorities.
Representational & problem solving skills:
Ø I have been a Councillor, so I have dealt with many cases that have been raised at a local level. Also I have worked as a union representative for Amicus.
Ø I have been a local activist, campaigner and lead recruiter of members within the constituency.
Ø I have been an active union representative for Unite dealing everyday cases in the workplace, as well as being heavily involved in Amicus campaigns including manufacturing, Remploy and pensions. I care about the rural economy and community.

John Wiseman Launches bid for Labour NEC
Opening statement
The John Cruddas and John McDonnell campaign's taught me one thing, if there is any sense in the world both of these great campaigners should be in leading positions in the party. That is why we are suffering. I hope to bring the centre-left and left together in this campaign and show that young activists, trade unionists and PPCs can make a difference to the future of our country. I want to see the implementation of the temporary workers directive. I want to see the removal of all anti-trade union legislation. I don't want to see the building of more nuclear power stations for my daughter's generation. I want to see peace in the world, Obama to win the democract presidential nomination, the immediate withdrawl of troops from Iraq and be brave enough to say so. I would like to see one national minimum wage of at least £8.00 an hour, yes getting rid of poverty pay for our most vunerable people. I would like to see more investment in pension eg the immediate introduction of the index link. More care home investment from councils not less, less privately run. I would say most importantly an end to the PFI, PPP in our schools and health service. I have had to go through a PFI. The reform agenda needs to be about more Government direct investment through an increase on taxes for people on more than £80,000 a year and this money invested into our NHS, schools, climate change research eg renewable technology. I would like to see the retention of council housing. I want progressive ideas at the top of the party including reform of donations, more money from the unions and affiliates. Support me! You want an end to private donations and the re-affliation of unions that have left us as well as others that could affliate including the NASUWT (now with a political fund) and the NUT (I am a member) (voting on it now), support me! Lets make sure that Gordon knows that this party's grassroots have a voice, vote for change.
Nominate and vote for John Wiseman the democratic and grassroots choice
